Kathmandu: Nepal’s renowned beauty salon, Facial House, has expanded its operations by opening its 11th branch in Kumaripati, Lalitpur. The branch was inaugurated on Friday by Bhawani Rana, former president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), during a program held in Lalitpur.
Speaking at the inauguration, Rana said that the expansion of Facial House has made a significant contribution to job creation. She expressed that Facial House not only enhances people’s beauty but also helps alleviate the unemployment problem to some extent.
“The most important thing is that it provides great support in creating employment. It has provided jobs to over 200 people,” Rana said. “I am pleased that Facial House aims not only to enhance beauty but also to develop personality through services like skin tests and haircuts, while planning to use Nepali herbal products in cosmetics and take them to the international level.” She added that the presence of Facial House always brings a good vibe and positive energy to people.
On the occasion, Shushma Mahara, Managing Director of Facial House, expressed her dedication and enthusiasm for her business. Calling her business her “child,” she said, “I don’t love my own home that much; I just go there to sleep. But Facial House is like my eldest child. Since I opened it, I have worked day and night and haven’t even celebrated festivals.”
Mahara said that despite challenges like COVID-19 and earthquakes, the business has continued to grow. She expressed confidence that the industry will never fail because it provides affordable services suitable for middle- and lower-class customers, and everyone shares the desire to look beautiful.
“Previously, this field was seen only as a ‘barber’ profession, but now even children from well-off families are learning it. The perception of this field has changed,” Mahar added. She also said that residents of Lalitpur are happy to have a branch nearby and expect continued support in the future.
Facial House, which initially opened at Kathmandu Mall, has expanded to Chabahil, CTC Mall, and outside the valley to Pokhara, Surkhet, and Dhangadhi. Besides providing beauty training, Facial House offers numerous services such as hair and facial treatments, makeup, microblading, and hair extensions.
