Election Materials Arrive in Mugu for Upcoming House of Representatives Election

Mugu — On Sunday morning, 11 types of essential election materials, including ballot papers required for the House of Representatives election scheduled for Phagun 21, arrived in Mugu via a Nepal Army helicopter.

The District Election Office informed that the Election Commission transported the materials from Surkhet. The shipment includes 40,000 proportional representation ballot papers and 39,000 first-past-the-post ballot papers, along with other necessities such as needles, thread, swastika stamps, and ink pads.

Mugu, which consists of a single constituency, has a total of 36,031 voters. There are 67 polling stations and 69 polling centers across the district. According to Kamal Prasad Upadhyay, head of the District Election Office, now that all materials have arrived, training for polling officers and assistant polling officers will be conducted on Phagun 14. 

Starting Phagun 15, the materials will be packaged, and by Phagun 17, teams including polling officers will begin departing for their respective locations based on geographical distance.

To ensure a successful election, a total of 599 personnel will be deployed, including 70 polling officers, 70 assistant polling officers, 210 assistant staff, 179 volunteers, and 70 support staff. For security, more than 1,500 personnel from the temporary Police, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Army will be mobilized.
