Election Fever Grips Rautahat Constituency No. 4

Rautahat. As the election date of Falgun 21 approaches, election activities in Rautahat Constituency No. 4 have surged significantly. With candidates reaching out to voters' doorsteps with their agendas, election debates have begun in the settlements.

This time, 37 candidates have filed their nominations in Rautahat-4, including 30 men and 6 women in the electoral fray. A major competition is expected between Dev Prasad Timalsina of the Nepali Congress, Ramji Sah of the CPN (UML), and Ramkumar Bhattarai of the Nepali Communist Party.

Similarly, Ganesh Paudel of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Rishi Dhamala of the Aam Janata Party are also busy with intensive door-to-door campaigns. Candidates from the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), Janamat Party, and Ujyaalo Nepal are also seen busy wooing voters while strengthening their presence.

Candidates have made development and prosperity their main slogans. They have expressed commitments to voters regarding the expansion of road networks, ensuring drinking water, and finding permanent solutions to the problems of landless squatters. 

The candidates have also put forward agendas for the modernization of agriculture, quality health services, and improvements in education. Pointing out the need for constitutional amendments, they have expressed a shared commitment to corruption-free administration and transparent development.

In this election, 30 new faces have entered the electoral competition. The presence of 20 independent candidates has created pressure on the major parties. There is widespread discussion across the constituency regarding whether voters will repeat old faces or give opportunities to new ones.

As the election nears, Rautahat Constituency No. 4 is decorated with party flags and election symbols. Among the 37 candidates, who the voters will elect to send to parliament will only be decided after the polling on Phagun 21.
