Historic Premiere of Nepali Film 'Eklo' at America's Prestigious Museum of the Moving Image
Kathmandu. Achieving a significant milestone at the international level, the Nepali feature film 'Eklo' (The Alone) is set for a historic premiere at the globally renowned Museum of the Moving Image in New York, USA. Previously, this venue has only hosted premieres for highly exclusive Hollywood films and works by world-famous artists.
Special films by Christopher Nolan, masterpieces by Martin Scorsese, special projects from Marvel Studios, and exclusive screenings and premieres related to international stars like Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, and Meryl Streep have taken place here.
Now, for the first time, a Nepali film is going to have its formal premiere on such a world-class platform. The US premiere of 'Eklo' is scheduled for December 28.
Historically, not only Nepali but also Bollywood cinema has not premiered at this location. 'Eklo' breaks that history, elevating the quality and international reach of Nepali cinema to a new height. This is considered a matter of great pride for the Nepali film industry.

The science-fiction based film 'Eklo' is set to be released in Nepal and the global market starting Poush 17. Director Pradeep Shahi is actively involved in filmmaking while based in the UK, and 'Eklo' is his third directorial venture. He embarked on this film with the goal of presenting a visual, technical, and narrative quality comparable to Hollywood standards.
The film stars Pradeep Khadka, Vijay Lama, Sunil Thapa, Diya Pun, Benisha Hamal, Dinesh DC, Kabita Nepali, Suraj Singh Thakuri, Ewan Raj Upreti, Trichu Rai, Krishnabhakta Maharjan, Bikas Adhikari, Diggaj Khatri, Binod Subedi 'Kshitiz', Shrishresh Shrestha, child artists Jemin Shrestha and Syaun Sabik Singh, among others. Additionally, British actor Jamie Bacon has a significant role.
The film, financed by an NRN (Non-Resident Nepali) group, has Binod Subedi 'Kshitiz' as its Executive Producer. Cinematography is handled by Babu Shrestha, action direction by Raju Tamang, set design by Raju Painter, art direction by Santosh Lama, and production design by Dronprasad Paudel 'Theuke'.
The journey of 'Eklo' starting its official premiere at a venue known for world-class Hollywood premieres is seen as a historic step towards expanding the international identity of Nepali cinema.
