Election Commission Receives Vehicle Support from India for Upcoming Polls
Kathmandu. The House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5 is being viewed as historic and meaningful in Nepal following the Gen Z movement that took place on september. Neighboring India is also observing this election with great importance and interest.
According to ANI, India has provided necessary assistance to Nepal as election preparations reach the final stages. Suman Ghimire, Information Officer of the Election Commission, stated that the Indian government has provided a large number of vehicles to the Government of Nepal, which are being used for election purposes.
Speaking with ANI, Ghimire said, "India is our important neighbor. To add ease to our election, it has provided around 87 vehicles. We have been receiving continuous support from India since previous elections. The Government of India has provided a large number of vehicles for the election through the Nepal government, which are currently being used in election work."
He also informed that India is providing support from a security perspective. "In view of election security, borders have been sealed in some areas bordering India," he said.
The Commission stated that support is also being received from other neighboring countries besides India. According to Ghimire, China, Korea, and Japan are also providing various types of assistance through the Nepal government.
According to the Election Commission, voting will take place on March 5 from 7 AM to 5 PM. A total of 18,903,689 voters will participate in this election. Approximately 1.1 million new voters have been added this time. The Commission stated that training programs have been conducted at the ward level to provide information to new voters regarding the voting process.
Across the country, 23,112 polling centers have been established under 10,967 polling stations. The Election Commission stated that necessary management has been carried out keeping in mind the convenience and security of the voters. ANI
