Yuvraj Dulal Criticizes Government's Policy and Programs

Kathmandu: Yuvraj Dulal, a Member of Parliament from the Nepali Communist Party, expressed his disappointment, stating that the government's policy and programs fail to include a clear destination for building an equitable society and a socialism-oriented economy.

Participating in the discussion on the policy and programs in the House of Representatives on Thursday, MP Dulal remarked that without clear political and ideological guidance, the policy and programs remain in a state of confusion.

He said, "It is ironic that the government's policy and programs do not show signs of developing a socialism-oriented economy while building an equitable society. If the political and ideological destination is not clear, the policy and programs fall into confusion. The government must clarify its political-economic perspective within the framework of the constitution."

He also questioned the target mentioned in the policy and programs to produce 30,000 megawatts of electricity in 10 years, claiming it lacks a realistic basis.

Dulal thanked the government for continuing good policies and programs from the past and for announcing some new programs. Additionally, he clarified that he is not guided by a perspective that only seeks out the government's weaknesses.

He mentioned that the subject of strengthening democracy through practice was not included in the policy and programs and expressed objection to matters such as the dissolution of student organizations within a democratic system.

Furthermore, he drew the government's attention to the fact that the agricultural sector was not given sufficient priority in the policy and programs.
