Dr. Baburam Bhattarai: Action Follows 23, Then 24
Kathmandu: Former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has stressed that the high-level commission formed to conduct an impartial investigation into the incidents that occurred on Bhadra 23 and 24 must complete its work as soon as possible.
Through a post on Facebook, he urged the interim government to take necessary steps in accordance with that report.
Dr. Bhattarai warned that taking action only against those involved in the Bhadra 24 incident while ignoring the Bhadra 23 incident would violate the fundamental principles of justice and the spirit of the people's movement (Jana Andolan).
Core Demand: The high-level commission must finish its work quickly, and the interim government must act as per the report.
Warning: Taking action only against those involved on the 24th while neglecting the incident on the 23rd would be contrary to the principles of justice and the people's movement.
Fundamental Argument: He argues that this would also be "contrary to the established natural law regarding the interrelationship between Action and Reaction."
Dr. Bhattarai has urged the government to take this matter seriously, saying, "May the interim government, formed on the strength of the Gen-Z rebellion, pay special attention." His post appears to be aimed at pressuring the interim government to maintain balance in the process of justice.
