Dipa Shree Niraula Signed for ‘Parbati’

Kathmandu – Actress and director Dipa Shree Niraula has been signed for the upcoming film Parbati. On Tuesday, the film’s production team officially signed her. According to actress and director Nita Dhungana Adhikari, although she had been in verbal discussions with Niraula for some time, the formal paperwork was completed on Tuesday.

“We had been sharing ideas and were verbally okay,” Nita said while signing Dipa Shree for the film. “Today (Tuesday) she has been finalized. Having you in my project is a big thing for me.” Nita confirmed that she signed Dipa in the lead role. After the signing, Dipa Shree recalled working with Nita 12 years ago.

“Twelve years ago, in 2070 B.S., I helped in the film Chha Ekan Chha,” Dipa said while praising Nita. “After 12 years, it’s like the river has turned back — you have signed me in Parbati. Right now it’s the month of Saun, a month associated with Shiva and Parbati, and I have the chance to play the lead in a film like Parbati. Thank you for remembering me.”

Nita expressed happiness that Dipa had remembered her for a film 12 years ago, and now, after 12 years, she was able to take Dipa in her directorial project. Dipa Shree is a successful director and actress from the Chhakka Panja team. Most of the films she has directed have been commercially successful, which is why her signing in this film is considered significant.

Before Dipa was signed, popular dance group Cartoonz Crew’s Saroj Adhikari had been signed as assistant director. Nita Dhungana Adhikari, a successful actress and director, will direct the film herself and also play the main role.

The shooting of the film will begin this upcoming Ashoj. Two posters of the film have already been released. Last Saturday, the production team released the two posters and also announced the release date. Parbati will be released on 1st Magh. Apart from Nita and Dipa, the names of other actors have not yet been revealed. According to director Nita, details about the cast and technical team will be announced gradually.

The story of the film is written by Nita Dhungana, while the screenplay and dialogues are by Shivam Adhikari. Cinematography will be done by Kabir Lal and Shahid Lal. The film is produced by Sabitra Adhikari, Narahari Adhikari, and Pawan Dhungana. Nita had first entered film production through Hrashwadeergh. This time, she will step into direction with both Parbati and Sukha–Dukha. For distribution, Rich Entertainment and Apple Entertainment will handle the Kathmandu Valley, while FD Company will handle distribution outside the Valley.
