House of Representatives Election: Proportional Representation Counting Concluded
The counting of votes under the proportional representation system for the House of Representatives election, held on March 5, has been completed.
On Wednesday, Commission Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai informed that the vote counting for the proportional electoral system has concluded.
He stated that the process of collecting vote counting reports from the respective constituencies is underway, and immediately following that, the number of seats won under the proportional system will be determined, and the respective parties will be notified to recommend their candidates.
Under the proportional category, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has received approximately 5.15 million votes. Similarly, the Nepali Congress received 1.75 million, the CPN (UML) 1.45 million, and the CPN (Maoist Centre) 800,000 votes, while the Shram Sanskriti Party and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) successfully crossed the electoral threshold. Commission Spokesperson Bhattarai mentioned that the final list of candidates elected under the proportional system will be finalized after verifying the candidate recommendations received from the parties.
Furthermore, he informed that as all election-related work has reached the final stage, the additional structures established within the Commission have been closed.
He added that the employees who worked in these additional structures have been sent back to their respective offices by the Commission.
