Politics of Thought, Integrity, and Public Service: Chandra Bahadur Gurung’s Inclusive Path
Chandra Bahadur Gurung is among the conscious and hardworking figures in the Nepali political sphere who has embraced the ideology of inclusive socialism not just in theoretical debate, but in practical politics.
Continually raising his voice in favor of social justice, equality, and the rights of oppressed and marginalized classes, Gurung’s political journey is based on thought, integrity, and public service.
Affiliated with the Inclusive Socialist Party, he is active in political agendas aimed at ending discrimination based on caste, class, gender, region, and community, while ensuring equal opportunities for all citizens.
Gurung firmly believes that true democracy is only possible when equal participation of all classes and communities is ensured in state policies, structures, and decision-making processes.
His political thinking is not limited to ideals or slogans. He considers subjects such as education, health, employment, the rights of farmers and laborers, youth empowerment, and good governance as the foundations of practical social change.
He holds a clear view that the state must play an active, accountable, and result-oriented role, especially in uplifting the living standards of rural and underprivileged communities.
Rising above traditional thinking and individualistic politics, Gurung is an advocate for a new political culture rooted in ideology, integrity, and service-oriented politics. Political figures like him signal hope, trust, and an alternative political path in Nepali politics.
Born in Parbatipur, Chitwan, Gurung was raised in Kawasoti, Nawalpur. Currently, he resides in Kathmandu. Professionally, he is a makeup artist. He has worked for a long time as a makeup artist in the film industry, fashion shows, beauty pageants, and music videos. He operates his own makeup studio in Lazimpat, Kathmandu.
With nearly two decades of experience in social service, Gurung has served as the immediate past president of the International Lions Club of Kathmandu Pride Rainbow. He has consistently dedicated his time and labor to blood donation drives, old age homes, and the service of orphaned and disabled individuals.
Currently, he is a central executive committee member of 'Mayako Pahichan Nepal' and a central member of the Inclusive Socialist Party. In the upcoming election on Falgun 21, he has entered the electoral field as a proportional representation candidate.
His primary objective is to end the discrimination occurring among artists, makeup artists, and technicians within the entertainment sector. He has joined the Falgun 21 election with the resolve to raise his voice against unequal treatment within the entertainment industry and to bring clear demands to the government to create a system where everyone's rights are ensured.
It is expected that his journey to reach parliament through the practice of inclusive socialism will open doors for new debates and possibilities in Nepali politics.
