High-Value Camera Gear Stolen Under the Guise of One-Day Rental Agreement
Kathmandu: Recently, incidents of camera theft and fraud have been increasing in Kathmandu. According to Film Crew Nepal Pvt. Ltd., a 19-year-old individual named Dikshant Dulal, originally from Ilam Municipality-4 and currently residing in Imadol, Lalitpur, entered into an agreement to rent camera equipment but has failed to return it.
The company stated that he rented the equipment on Shrawan 8 for a single day. The missing items include an A7 IV camera, which has a market value of about 282,000 rupees, along with lenses and a gimbal, totaling about 800,000 rupees worth of equipment. Since then, he has remained out of contact.
A month after his disappearance, his father, Dipendra Dulal, contacted the company and promised to return the camera; however, the company reports that he has also not been in touch since that time. Nutandev Dulal, the Ward Chairman of Ilam Municipality-4, attempted to reach the father and son regarding the matter, but found that they had changed their phone numbers.
