Britannica Education partners with Embark UnMath as Knowledge Partner for Global Math Debate League
Kathmandu: Embark UnMath is bringing the Global Math Debate League (GMDL) to Nepal for the first time, combining mathematical thinking with debate in a way the country hasn't seen before.
The event to be held in January 2026 has Britannica Education on board as the Knowledge Partner.
GMDL reimagines mathematics as a universal language of thought and dialogue, not just numbers and formulas.
The program encourages students to use math as a medium for expressing ideas, demonstrating creativity, engaging in conversation, and implementing it in everyday activities.
"The Global Math Debate League is about seeing mathematics as more than calculations," said Divesh Bathija, co-founder of Embark UnMath. "Through this league, students get to debate ideas, challenge themselves, and see mathematics come alive in completely new ways."
Over 5,000 students from schools across Nepal will take part in this event through three stages: Screening Round, Regional Selection, and National Final Round.
