Bhusal’s Bold Promise: A Debt-Free Nepal in 3 Years
Dr. Kamal (Nicholas) Bhusal, who is entering the upcoming election with the 'Gen-Z Shoe' electoral symbol, has released a concept paper featuring plans to turn the Earth into a paradise by the year 2100.
Sharing a draft of his election manifesto via social media on Wednesday, he claimed that Nepal would be transformed into a 'Green Paradise' by 2033 (2090 B.S.) and that the entire Earth would be established as a paradise through a World Peace Organization by 2100. Stating that the manifesto is still in the writing phase, he has invited suggestions from the general public.
The concept released by Dr. Bhusal includes time-bound promises for economic and social reforms. He announced that within one month of taking office, all demands of the 'Gen-Z' generation would be met, and within three months, the lost funds of victims of cooperatives, microfinance, and predatory lending (meter- byaj) would be returned.
Furthermore, he plans to provide education, health, justice, security, drinking water, and electricity entirely free of cost within one year. Within three years, he aims to create domestic employment and pay off the country’s entire national debt. Going even further, he claimed he would build a 3,000 trillion economy within five years to make every Nepali a millionaire and present Nepal as a model of paradise within eight years.
Proposing radical changes in the state's governance and policy structure, he stated he would declare Nepal a Vedic Sanatan Hindu, Buddhist, and Kirat nation. Expressing disagreement with the current federal structure, he put forward a policy to abolish provincial assemblies and ministers, with the state taking full responsibility for education and health.
He stated that an economic revolution would be achieved through the legal utilization of Nepal’s mines, water, forests, and herbs, building a well-governed Nepal that realizes the proverb "If you don't get justice, go to Gorkha." Additionally, he plans to end the trade deficit within three years by reducing imports and establishing transport entrepreneurship as a respected profession.
Dr. Bhusal has also outlined local development plans specifically focusing on the Rupandehi district. According to his plan, Butwal will be developed as a hub for education, Tilottama for industry, and Sainamaina for information technology.
He has prioritized turning Lumbini Provincial Hospital into a medical college, embanking the Tinau River, finding long-term solutions for landless squatters, and controlling the Jyotinagar landslide. For tourism development, he aims to bring in 10 million tourists in one year and upgrade various religious sites and parks. He also committed to building a playground in every ward and one stadium in each province.
Identifying himself as a citizen of a nation meant to be the "World's Teacher," Dr. Bhusal argued that Nepal is not a poor country but has been made poor. Taking nationality, unity, humanity, and self-reliance as core principles, he holds the ambition that Nepal will lead world peace by coordinating with global powers through a Global Peace Union.
