Bhatbhateni Owner Aims to Deposit More Revenue in National Coffers
Bhatbhateni Super Market owner and businessman Min Bahadur Gurung has stated that his goal is to deposit more and more money into the country's revenue account.
Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu on Monday on the occasion of Tax Day, he mentioned that the country is built with the money collected by businessmen like him, and thus, a large amount of money should be deposited in the national revenue account.
He said, "It never crosses my mind that less money should go into my country's revenue account. I always aim to deposit more and more money into the country's revenue account. We build the country with the money we collect. Therefore, my view is that tax must be paid."
Similarly, he noted that the Gen-Z movement on August 23 and 24 caused a large amount of damage and that it is now necessary to move forward seriously.
He stated, "The big Gen-Z movement took place on August 23 and 24, and the Gen-Z changed the government in just two days. We must now move forward seriously. If we don't, such movements could happen much more."
Revenue Increases Automatically by Expanding Economic Activities: Chairman Agrawal
During the same event, Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal, President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, stated that the expansion of economic activity and revenue growth are complementary to each other, and if economic activities are expanded, revenue will also increase.
He said, "National Tax Day is not just a one-day celebration. It is the honoring of the shared commitment of a responsible tax administration and taxpayers.
The expansion of economic activity and revenue growth are both complementary to each other. The more we can expand economic activities, the more revenue will increase, and it will be easier to achieve the target set by the government."
He also added that private sector-friendly tax policies and the creation of a taxpayer-friendly environment are necessary for the expansion of economic activities.
