Beauty of Ganzi Showcased at Mountain Museum in Pokhara

Pokhara — The natural and cultural beauty of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, located in western Sichuan Province of China, is now on display at the International Mountain Museum in Pokhara.

Known for its breathtaking scenery, high-altitude valleys, snow-capped mountains, vast grasslands, and dense forests, Ganzi’s picturesque landscapes have been captured in photographs and showcased in an exhibition under the “Mountain Tourism Promotion Point” initiative.

The exhibition, organized with support from the Nepal National Pavilion (China), was inaugurated on Thursday at the museum premises in Ratopairo, Pokhara. The photos will remain on display for the next six months.

Deputy Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City, Manju Devi Gurung, inaugurated the exhibition. She emphasized that such events help to further strengthen the friendly relations between Nepal and China.

Chen Botao, Secretary of the Communist Party of China for the Ganzi Prefecture Committee, extended an open invitation to Nepali people to visit Ganzi. “Like Nepal, Ganzi is home to mountains, lakes, and waterfalls — we warmly welcome you to visit,” he said.

Nirmala Kumari Neupane, Executive Director of the Mountain Museum, stated that efforts are underway to develop the museum as a global hub of knowledge about mountains, mountaineering, and highland cultures. The museum, one of Pokhara’s major tourist attractions, receives more than 200,000 visitors annually.

Members of the International Mountain Museum Committee, Sheshkant Sharma and Dharmaraj Panthi, also addressed the event.
