Three Arrested with Around 367 Kg of Marijuana

Kathmandu: Three individuals have been arrested with approximately 367 kilograms of marijuana in separate operations.

Police arrested 21-year-old Som Magar, a resident of Kanchi Bazaar, Katari Municipality-4 (originally from Rupandehi), last night near Maruwa Khola in Katari Municipality-4, Udayapur, along with 199.32 kg of marijuana. A police team deployed from the District Police Office, Udayapur, recovered the marijuana packed inside 9 sacks hidden in the cargo bed of a tipper truck (Na 7 Kha 8173) coming from Betini toward Katari, subsequently arresting the driver, Magar.

In a separate operation on Monday morning, police arrested two men with around 168 kg of marijuana from Chipleti, Rapti Municipality-10, Chitwan. The arrestees have been identified as 51-year-old Dilli Ram Tharu, a resident of Bhirkuti Chowk, Gaidakot Municipality-2, Nawalparasi East (originally from Milanchowk, Madhyabindu Municipality-7), and 36-year-old Karna Bahadur Tamang of Piple, Rapti Municipality-1, Chitwan. A team from the District Police Office, Chitwan, discovered the contraband during a search of a car (Ba Pra 03-01-023 Cha 5828) and arrested driver Dilli Ram along with passenger Karna Bahadur.

Police are conducting further investigations into both cases.
