New Movie 'Bam Bihari' Starring Suman Jyoti and Jharana Announced

The production of the new Nepali movie 'Bam Bihari' officially began following a special ceremony held on Wednesday at the Hanuman Temple in Bhaktapur. Filming started immediately after the prayers. The movie is being directed by DMS Malla, marking his debut as a feature film director after directing nearly 50 music videos.

Director Malla shared that the filming schedule is set for one month, with shooting taking place in both Kathmandu and Nepalgunj. The crew will spend the first week in Kathmandu before moving to Nepalgunj. The story revolves around a character named Bam Bihari, the son of a Nepali mother and an Indian father.

Malla, who is also the writer and investor of the film, expressed confidence that audiences will enjoy the movie. He noted that even with newer actors, films with strong stories and high-quality production have been successful recently.

The cast includes Surbir Pandit, Suman Jyoti Neupane (popularly known as Lyangri Dada), Dhruba Budhathoki, Jharana Risal, Sandhya Shrestha, Puskar Raut, and Samrat Chhetri. 

Actor Suman Jyoti Neupane confirmed that he is playing the title character, Bam Bihari, in a negative role. He mentioned that since the audience has always appreciated him in villainous characters, he hopes for a similar response this time.

Lead actress Jharana Risal is returning to the big screen after a seven-year break. This will be her fourth film, following her previous work in movies like 'Bhumi the Great Lady', 'Parinam', and 'Kaslai Afno Bhannu'.

The technical team includes choreographer Surendra Basel, makeup artist Saroj Budhathoki, and production manager Suman Kafle. The movie is being filmed by Rameshwar Humagain’s team and will be edited by Gautamraj Khadka. 

Binay Raj Paudel and Purushottam Pandit are assisting the director, while Anupam Chaudhary is providing the songs. The official release date for the movie has not been announced yet.
