Printing of Ballot Papers for 100 Constituencies Successfully Completed
Kathmandu, Magh 27. Printing of ballot papers for 100 constituencies in 44 districts has been completed for the upcoming House of Representatives member election to be held on Falgun 21. The printing work is being carried out at the Janak Education Materials Center in Bhaktapur.
According to Assistant Spokesperson of the Commission, Kul Bahadur GC, a total of 12,256,000 ballot papers have been printed as of Monday. According to the Commission, the printing of ballot papers for Dolpa, Mugu, Jumla, Kalikot, Humla, Jajarkot, Dailekh, Rukum (West), Salyan, Surkhet, Bajura, Achham, Bajhang, Doti, Dadeldhura, Darchula, Baitadi, Kailali, Kanchanpur, and Panchthar has been completed.
Similarly, the printing of ballot papers for Ilam, Tehrathum, Bhojpur, Okhaldhunga, Sunsari, Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Solukhumbu, Khotang, Dhankuta, Baglung, Gulmi, Jhapa, Gorkha, Myagdi, Parbat, Bardaghat Susta West (Nawalparasi), Morang, Udayapur, and Mustang has also been finished.
Ballot paper printing for 44 districts, including Lamjung, Tanahun, Syangja, and Bardiya, has been completed. He stated that the packing of ballot papers for various districts where printing is finished has also been done. So far, 10,759 boxes of ballot papers have been packed.
The printing of ballot papers for the House of Representatives election under both the Proportional Representation and First-Past-The-Post systems began on Poush 22 at Janak Education Materials Center Limited, Sanothimi. The Commission stated that in the first phase, 1,098,200 sample ballot papers were printed and sent to various districts.
The Commission informed that the printing of ballot papers for the Proportional Representation system started on Poush 26 and was completed on Magh 13, with 20,830,000 ballot papers printed, packed, verified, and kept ready for transportation.
For the direct election (FPTP), the Commission stated that 20,323,000 ballot papers need to be printed. The printing of ballot papers for the direct election system began on the morning of Magh 16.
