Prime Minister Karki Stresses Balancing Rights and Duties
Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has expressed the view that one should not forget their duties while exercising their rights.
Speaking on Monday at the Tamang Cultural Festival and greetings exchange program organized by Nepal Tamang Ghedung and various other organizations on the occasion of Sonam Lhosar at Tundikhel, Kathmandu, she stated that the basic value of Nepali society—contributing to the welfare of society even by enduring personal hardship—needs to be applied in political behavior as well.
She said, "The culture of not forgetting duties while exercising rights and prioritizing the greater good over personal interest is an integral part of our social life. Our basic value in Nepal's society is to contribute to the welfare of society even by enduring some hardship. We must be able to adopt this value and culture in our political behavior as well."
