Ambulance Vegetables in Pokhara Gain Popularity, Crowded Markets (With Video)

Pokhara – Vegetables transported via agricultural ambulances in Pokhara are attracting growing interest from consumers. Launched with the aim of delivering produce from small farmers in rural areas directly to consumers, this service has now become a reason for heavy crowds in local markets.

According to Manhar Kadariya, Chief of the Agriculture and Economic Development Division of the Metropolitan City, the agricultural ambulance has been playing a key role in directly connecting producers and consumers. Currently, farmers’ markets operate once a week in seven locations in Pokhara. However, due to increasing demand, some wards have started operating markets twice a week.

To collect farmers’ produce, the Metropolitan City has established 21 collection centers. Agricultural ambulances visit these centers, collect vegetables and other produce, and transport them to the market, Kadariya informed.
