"Lumbini Photographers Association Launches Advanced AI Photo Editing Training"

August 31, Butwal

Photography, photojournalism, and modern digital media in Nepal have advanced remarkably in recent years. Yet, many photographers are still struggling to reach international standards. With the rapid adoption of technology—especially Artificial Intelligence (AI)—the photo editing industry is entering a new era.

In this context, the Lumbini Photographers Association will conduct a two-day Advanced Photo Editing Training (including AI-powered techniques) on Bhadra 20–21 at Siddhartha Cottage, Butwal. The training aims to equip Nepali photographers to compete on a global level.

The Growing Importance of Photography and Digital Editing in Nepal

From weddings and rituals to political events and social gatherings, photography plays a central role in Nepali society. Over the last decade, digital cameras, drones, mobile photography, and editing software have provided photographers with not just employment but also recognition.

However, challenges remain. Relying solely on traditional editing skills makes it difficult to stay competitive. Today, clients demand faster, more appealing, and precise results. Photographers who lack knowledge of AI tools like Photoshop Generative Fill and Luminar AI risk falling behind.

The Lumbini Photographers Association has been actively working to bring photographers from across Nepal onto a single platform for skill enhancement. In the past, the association organized photo exhibitions, blood donation drives, and community service programs. This time, as President Dinesh Aryal explained, the focus is on a first-of-its-kind Advanced Photo Editing Training with AI in Lumbini Province.

“Power of AI” has become a widely discussed term in photography and graphics. It allows photographers to save time and perform tasks like photo restoration more efficiently. According to program coordinator Mohan Mato, what used to take hours can now be completed in minutes, giving photographers more room for creativity.

Training Highlights

The two-day program will cover:

Advanced Photoshop & Lightroom techniques

Use of AI tools, including the Power of AI

RAW photo editing and color correction

Advanced touches for wedding, portrait, and event photography

The role of AI in marketing and branding

International editing styles and trends

Participants will gain hands-on experience and receive certificates that can support their professional careers.

Nepal’s photography market—including wedding photography, studio work, product shoots, advertisements, music videos, and news photography—is growing rapidly. This training has the potential to create new employment opportunities nationwide.

Photographers from Lumbini, Palpa, Gulmi, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Arghakhanchi, and surrounding districts have already shown enthusiasm, with many making advance bookings. “This could be a life-changing training,” some participants said.

As President Aryal emphasized, those who embrace technology will succeed. Nepali photographers no longer need to hesitate to compete internationally. The Advanced AI Photo Editing Training by the Lumbini Photographers Association promises to be a historic opportunity.
