Yoga Helps Maintain Good Health: Mayor Acharya
Pokhara – Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City, Dhanraj Acharya, has said that the practice of yoga has a positive impact on both physical and mental health.
Speaking at the inauguration of the co–yoga teacher training program organized by the Women’s Patanjali Yoga Committee, Kaski, on Monday, Mayor Acharya shared that he also takes time out to practice yoga regularly. According to him, yoga helps reduce stress, which is why the metropolitan city has been supporting the operation of yoga classes.
The 10-day training is expected to have participation from more than 100 individuals, informed committee chairperson Urmila Hirachan. Nepal’s first female sadhbi, Debkripa, is serving as the chief instructor for the program.
At the event, Province Committee in-charge of the Patanjali Yoga Committee, Narendra Man Lalchan, highlighted the importance of yoga and stressed the need to bring it to every household.
The program was chaired by Urmila Hirachan, conducted by Organization Minister Laxmi Pun, and facilitated by Province Patron Lokdarshan Koirala.
