Kathmandu: Under the banner of Takme Production, a new Nepali film titled "Maijharo" is set to go into production. On Monday, the production team officially announced the project by signing actor Dhiraj Magar in a leading role.
The film will be written and directed by the multi-talented artist Wilson Bikram Rai, marking his directorial debut. Rai, who began his acting career in childhood with the film "Saathi" starring Rajesh Hamal, has since captivated audiences through numerous performances. Now, he ventures into direction through Maijharo.
The film will feature music by Anmol Gurung and Torempa Hang Rai, while cinematography will be handled by Saurabh Lama. According to the production team, the names of additional cast members will be revealed soon.
Filming is scheduled to begin in the first week of Shrawan (mid-July), with picturesque locations in Ilam and Panchthar chosen as primary shooting spots. Director Rai shared that Maijharo is a socially themed film that will portray the lifestyle, culture, and social realities of Nepal’s eastern hills.
Takme Production has previously produced several popular comedy skits and musical presentations. Given this successful background, Maijharo has already generated excitement among both audiences and film industry professionals.
Wilson Bikram Rai gained widespread fame through the hit comedy television series "Meri Bassai", where he became a household name as "Takme Budha." In addition to acting, he is also known for his work as a singer and musician.
