Nepalgunj to Host Walkathon on the Occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day
Nepalgunj/ Preparations for the fifth Nepalgunj Walkathon Against Corruption, to be held on December 9 (Mangsir 23) on the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day, have been intensified.
The organizing body, BASE Nepal, and the management body,have expanded their preparations to make the event a grand success with the participation of all, as the program is organized with the objective of raising awareness against corruption and promoting the identity of Nepalgunj.
A coordination meeting was held today for the solidarity and commitment of the NGO sector regarding the program, which will be organized in collaboration with various organizations and bodies.
NGO workers who participated in the meeting committed to unite and propagate the message against corruption from the streets of Nepalgunj during a time when there is a 'drought of good governance.'
The walkathon, organized under the slogan "Let's Walk Together Against Corruption," will feature activities such as the Nepal Police band, various cultural performances, tableau displays, and the distribution of leaflets and pamphlets.
Participants in the program will take to the streets with anti-corruption slogans, the flag of Nepal, and placards bearing messages and symbols against corruption.
Stakeholders and the general public have been appealed to participate spontaneously in the program and support the anti-corruption campaign.
To intensify the preparations for the program's grandeur, the organization has divided tasks to meet and discuss with all sectors in various phases.
The United Nations Convention Against Corruption was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 9, 2003.
BASE Nepal has been regularly organizing the Nepalgunj Walkathon Against Corruption program in Nepalgunj since 2078 BS (2021 AD) in western Nepal.
