Three-Day Effort to Clear Landslide Continues, Passengers and Farmers Affected
Continuous rainfall has triggered a large landslide at Gagane Khola in Kalikot, blocking the Karnali Highway. Clearance work has been ongoing for three consecutive days, and the highway is expected to reopen within a few hours.
RPP leader Gyanendra Shahi, in a Facebook post, expressed gratitude to the Road Division Office Jumla, Chief District Officer, District Administration Office, District Police Office, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Army personnel for their support. He also conveyed regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers and apple farmers.
Shahi apologized for delays in completing the work due to persistent rain and confirmed that teams have been working continuously for the past three days.
The ongoing efforts to remove the blockage are expected to restore smooth travel and ease difficulties for residents and farmers in the Karnali region.
