Tamang Film ‘Ae Ngala Hrangba Maya’ to Premiere in Kathmandu on Saturday
Kathmandu – The Tamang-language romantic film "Ae Ngala Hrangba Maya" is set for a special screening this Saturday, Ashar 28, at the Nepal Film Development Board, Chabahil, Kathmandu. The film aims to deeply portray the cultural setting, traditions, and emotional bonds within the Tamang community, highlighting the connection between heritage and the younger generation. It is being seen as a symbol of progress in the Tamang film industry.
The lead actor and director of the film is Hutt Sanjay Lama. Lama has previously acted in and directed a dozen films including Kraba Ngala Sem, Hyangla Hyul, Semrin Mula Maya, Amar Rahos Hamro Maya, Bichhi, Kasam Timilai, Jamkavhet, Duwali, and Sanu.
The producers of the film are Losang Lama and Ikesh Lama, with assistant director Bishwajung Majhi, action direction by Raju Dong Tamang, and cinematography by Prajwal Raut. According to the film team, the movie has been made with a strong technical foundation, without compromising on quality. The main song of the movie expresses the deep emotions of separation and sorrow, and the lead actor Hutt Sanjay Lama’s powerful performance in it is expected to be a major attraction.
Actress Sunita Lungba stars alongside Lama. Having acted in many films, Lungba said she holds special hope for this one.
“I have worked hard in every film, but this one made me cry even when I watched it myself,” she said. “Because it has truly turned out to be an excellent film.”
The film also features performances by Tara Thokar, Hem Kumar Titung, Prajmi Bomjan, Rajkumar Syangtang, Sangita Bomjan, Bhuisal Lama, Maya Devi Moktan, Milan Syangtang, Hiroj Lopchan, and others.
The organizers have made a heartfelt call for audiences in and around Kathmandu to attend and support the special screening. The film is expected to bring a new message and elevate the Tamang-language film industry to greater heights.
