‘Citamol’ Set for Release on Shrawan 23, Promotions in Full Swing
The upcoming Nepali film “Citamol”, set to release on Shrawan 23 (August 8), is currently engaged in an extensive promotional campaign. Following their appearance on Comedy Night with Champion last Saturday, the film’s team has been visiting various media outlets to reach as many viewers as possible.
Meanwhile, a song and a teaser from the film have already been released and have succeeded in creating a good buzz among audiences. Both the song "Jhumka Kanai Ma" and the teaser, which was released last week, have garnered over a million views each. Viewers who have seen the teaser and song have expressed their eagerness to watch the film.
The teaser, in particular, has received an overwhelmingly positive response. Comments under the teaser highlight the on-screen chemistry between lead actors Saugat Malla and Benisha Hamal. Many viewers have expressed excitement to see this duo on-screen again after their previous collaboration in "Jhyanaakuti." The positive reception of the promotional materials has clearly boosted the team's confidence.
Director Raj Bahadur Sane remarked that the strong audience response to the song and teaser has set a higher bar for upcoming promotional materials, especially the next song and the official trailer. Producers Bhugol Karki and Bikash Raj Joshi believe the next releases will be even more refined and meet the audience's raised expectations.
Through Citamol, the makers aim to symbolically portray Nepal and the lives of common Nepalis, while challenging deep-rooted social superstitions and harmful traditions. In addition to Saugat Malla and Benisha Hamal, the film features performances by Shree Krishna Neupane, Januka Bishwakarma, Lokendra Lekhak, Bhugol Karki, Hiunwala Gautam, Sushil Pokharel, Dinesh Regmi, RR Khadka, Gyanu Mall, Pawan Bhattarai, Kajal Bhujel, and child actors Karan Nepali and Aradhya Rajyalakshmi DC. Citamol marks the debut of Shree Krishna and Januka in the Nepali film industry.
The film is produced by Tulsi Devi Films Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with Juntara Films. The story is written by Pradeep Bhardwaj and Raj Bahadur Sane. Presented by Simos Sunuwar, the producers are Bhugol Kumar Karki and Bikash Raj Joshi, with Apsara Nepali, Ajay Malla, and Kumar KC as executive producers, and Ganga Ram Shrestha as co-producer.
The film includes music by Babul Giri, choreography by Kabiraj Gahatraj, editing by Bande Prasad, DI color by Rajendra Moktan, sound design by Mukesh Shah, and action direction by Dev Maharjan and Shankar Maharjan. The poster was designed by Rakesh Dahal, with Vikas Tamang and Dhan Bahadur Rai as production managers. The film was shot by Divya Subedi.
