Film Literacy Program Successfully Held at Shree Secondary School Sahapur
Chitwan. A film literacy program has been successfully completed at Shree Secondary School Sahapur, located in Kalika Municipality-2. Organized by Choya Digital Solution and managed by Celebrity Nepal, the program was held on Poush 13, 2082, in collaboration with the Film Development Board and Kalika Municipality, Chitwan.
About 150 students from the school participated enthusiastically in the event. According to the organizers, the program was held to increase film awareness among students, develop a critical perspective, and encourage creative thinking.
The program saw the special presence of Ward Chairman and Municipal Spokesperson of Kalika Municipality Ward No. 2 Laxman Paudel, Chairman of Choya Digital Solution Rajkumar Silwal, General Secretary of the Film Journalists Association Raghunath Sapkota, Principal of Shree Secondary School Sahapur Prem Adhikari, School Management Committee Chairman Som Bahadur Gurung, Ward Member Chitra Bahadur Bhandari, film director Amardeep Sapkota, journalist Prabin Kiranti, and journalist Prem Paudel. A large number of teachers also participated in the event.
Addressing the program, Ward Chairman and Municipal Spokesperson Laxman Paudel stated that the need for film education is growing in the digital age. He added that such programs have a positive impact on developing students' creativity, social awareness, and communication skills.
Rajkumar Silwal, Chairman of Choya Digital Solution, expressed that film literacy should start at the school level. He shared plans to expand such programs to various other schools in the future.
Raghunath Sapkota, General Secretary of the Film Journalists Association, urged students to view cinema not just as entertainment, but as a powerful medium for education, awareness, and social change.
School Principal Prem Adhikari expressed happiness over the organization of such an informative and practical program at the school and thanked the organizers and collaborating partners.
Similarly, School Management Committee Chairman Som Bahadur Gurung expressed confidence that the program would broaden the students' thoughts and perspectives.
Following the program, the participating students shared that the film literacy event helped them develop skills to understand, analyze, and use film creatively.
