Sci-Fi Nepali Film ‘Eklo’ Unveils First Look Video, Gains Momentum After Cannes Film Festival Exposure

Kathmandu. The first-look video of the Nepali sci-fi film ‘Eklo’ has been officially released. The video, launched through OSR Digital’s official YouTube channel, features glimpses of all the major characters from the film.

‘Eklo’ had earlier made its international presence felt through a promotional stall at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, drawing attention from global film enthusiasts. Since then, buzz around the film has significantly increased, raising curiosity among audiences regarding its teaser and promotional materials.

The film is directed by Pradeep Shahi, who has previously directed two feature films. Residing in the United Kingdom for several years, Shahi is developing ‘Eklo’ using Hollywood-level technology and presentation standards. The film is currently in post-production in London, and the production team has announced plans to release it during Christmas, around mid-Poush (December–January).

The cast of ‘Eklo’ includes Pradeep Khadka, Vijay Lama, Sunil Thapa, Diya Pun, Benisha Hamal, Dinesh DC, Kavita Nepali, Suraj Singh Thakuri, Avon Raj Upreti, Trichu Rai, Krishnabhakta Maharjan, Bikash Adhikari, Diggaj Khatri, Binod Subedi ‘Kshitiz’, and Sreeshesh Shrestha. It also features child actors Jemin Shrestha and Syon Savik Singh, along with British actor Jamie Bacon.

The film is produced by Raju Kumar Gurung, Hari Shrestha, Bishnu Tamang, Utsav Bista, Bhairaja Thapa, Navin Shiva, Bagbir Pun, Bhuvan Adhikari, Sangita Wadi Shrestha, Ritesh Rana, Sushil Prajapati, and Shashikala Gurung. Binod Subedi ‘Kshitiz’ serves as the executive producer.

Cinematography is handled by Babu Shrestha, with Raju Tamang directing action sequences. The set design is by Raju Painter, art direction by Santosh Lama, and production design by Dron Prasad Paudel ‘Theuke’.

‘Eklo’ is being seen as a serious and ambitious attempt to deliver a high-quality science fiction experience within the Nepali film industry, aiming to set a new benchmark in storytelling and technical execution.
