Relief Distribution in Ilam Affected by Floods and Landslides BY NRNA
Ilam: Relief supplies have been distributed to families affected by the floods and landslides that struck Ilam District following incessant rainfall.
The continuous rain on October 4th (Assoj 18) triggered landslides that resulted in the loss of 39 lives in Ilam.
The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), in collaboration with the Nepal Red Cross Society Ilam District Chapter and the Red Horse Football Club, began distributing relief in various phases starting from October 9th (Ashoj 23).
Relief was distributed through the Nepal Red Cross Society's Ilam branch in Balan and Ghosh in Ward No. 6, and further relief was channeled through the sub-branches of Mangalbare, Sidhithumka, Shantidanda, Maipokhari Ektappa, and Danabari.
The relief materials included 100 tarpaulins, 200 blankets, and 100 mats. Affected families expressed that they felt some ease after receiving the aid.
The relief distribution program was coordinated on behalf of the NRNA by Junior Officer Niroj Maharjan.
