Pritesh Karki Elected President, Deepak Dahal as General Secretary of NAANC

California - Pritesh Karki has been elected as the President of the 17th Executive Committee of the Nepali Association of Northern California (NAANC). The election was held during the association’s general convention on Sunday.
Other elected officials include Yagya Nepal as Senior Vice President, Pashupati Kandel as Vice President, Deepak Dahal as General Secretary, and Subash Shah Thakuri as Treasurer.
The newly elected executive members are Mohan Karki, Sunita Dhital, Suresh Bhatt, Renu Khanal Lamsal, Shila Dawadi, and Avnish Khadka. According to the organization’s bylaws, one Secretary and one Assistant Treasurer will be appointed by the executive committee.
During the opening session, Richmond City Mayor Eduardo Martinez praised the unity of the Nepali community and expressed the city’s willingness to work in partnership with them. He also donated $1,000 to support the recently acquired Nepali Community Center.
President-elect Pritesh Karki proposed collaborative community assistance and service programs in coordination with the city administration.
According to General Secretary-elect Deepak Dahal, the general assembly passed key agendas including the establishment of Hindu and Buddhist temples in line with the vision of the community center, senior citizen relief programs, and the complete payoff of the newly purchased center.
Founded in 1994, NAANC is one of the oldest Nepali community organizations in the United States.
