Prison Break Attempt Foiled in Birgunj Jail

Birgunj — The Birgunj Prison in Parsa clarified that despite inmates attempting vandalism and trying to escape, none of them managed to flee.

According to a statement issued by prison administrator Babulal Regmi, the incident began at 11 p.m. on Bhadra 24, when inmates tried to destroy CCTV cameras and damage internal structures.

They also attempted to break through the outer prison wall at three different points to escape. However, security personnel adopted various strategies and successfully brought the situation under control.

The administration confirmed that no human casualties occurred in the incident and that all inmates inside the prison remain completely safe. It further stated that the current situation in the prison is calm and under control. Families, relatives, and concerned stakeholders have also been informed about the matter.
