Prachanda Criticizes Government for Delays in Farmers’ Payments and Subsidies
Kathmandu – Former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has criticized the current government for failing to adequately support farmers. In a Facebook post, Prachanda stated that the government has decided to halt subsidies for sugarcane farmers and reduce the amounts that were already promised.
He also highlighted that the government has not been able to pay dairy farmers on time, forcing farmers to resort to protests. Prachanda described this situation as evidence of the government’s inefficiency and inaction.
The former PM urged the government to ensure timely payments for farmers, emphasizing that the backbone of the national economy is the agricultural community. He also reaffirmed his party’s commitment to stand in solidarity with farmers’ legitimate demands.
