NRNA Spokesperson Gautam Urges Not to Send Membership Fees to KC Faction

Kathmandu. Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Spokesperson Gangadhar Gautam has appealed to all National Coordination Councils (NCCs) not to send membership fees to the faction led by Badri KC.

In a press statement issued on Sunday, Gautam clarified that according to the Supreme Court’s directive, the NRNA High-Level Committee successfully held the Unity Convention in Kathmandu on May 3–4, 2025, which elected a new executive committee under the leadership of Mahesh Kumar Shrestha. The convention was conducted under the supervision of representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Law, and was inaugurated by then-Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba.

He further stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already recognized this committee as the only legitimate body and has informed Nepali embassies and diplomatic missions worldwide for coordination. In this context, Gautam emphasized that the so-called convention announced by the KC faction has no validity.

According to him, six cases related to NRNA are still under review at the Supreme Court’s full bench, making the KC faction’s election committee and delegate calls baseless. He remarked that the involvement of legal professionals in such activities amounts to contempt of court.

Gautam urged all parties to respect the Supreme Court’s directive, refrain from any unlawful activities, and immediately halt preparations for the so-called convention. He also strongly requested all NCCs not to send membership fees to the unauthorized committee.
