NRNA President Mahesh Shrestha Honored on Police Day

The Nepal Police honored Mahesh Kumar Shrestha, President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) International Coordination Council, on the occasion of its Police Day (Sthapana Diwas).
President Shrestha was honored with a certificate of appreciation during a special ceremony held at the Police Headquarters in Naxal to mark the 70th Establishment Day of the Nepal Police.
The Police Headquarters stated that the honor was conferred because the NRNA provided support for the reconstruction of the Valley Traffic Police Office in Baggikhana, which was damaged during the Gen Z protests on August 8-9 (Bhadau 23-24).
On the occasion, Inspector General of Police Chandra Kuber Khapung presented the certificate of appreciation. President Shrestha stated that the NRNA has contributed to road safety and pledged to continue providing assistance based on future needs.
The NRNA is currently in the final stages of the traffic control room reconstruction work. The total cost for this project is estimated to exceed NPR 80 lakh (eight million rupees).
According to NRNA Vice President Manoj Kumar Shrestha, who is also the coordinator of the Disaster Management Committee, the installation of necessary equipment in the Valley Traffic Control Room is underway. He added that the work is nearing completion and the control room will be handed over to the Traffic Police in a few days.
The honor ceremony was attended by NRNA former Presidents Binod Kunwar and Rajendra Kumar (RK) Sharma, former General Secretary Janaki Gurung, current committee Vice Presidents Manoj Kumar Shrestha and Bishwadip Tigela, General Secretary Baburam (BR) Lama, Secretary Tilak Gaire, Women's Coordinator Rashmi Thapa, Youth Coordinator Bhimsen Thapa, young entrepreneur Narayan Bhandari (social worker), Disaster Management Committee Member Secretary Dharma Raj Giri, NRNA Executive Director Rabikiran Adhikari, and journalist Bibash Kafle.
