NRNA President Mahesh Shrestha Interacts with Africa Activists
Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) President Mahesh Kumar Shrestha concluded a special virtual interaction program with NRNA activists from the African continent. The program was organized via Zoom with the aim of sharing the joy and message of the unity recently achieved within the association.
Addressing the program, President Shrestha recalled that the campaign had faced difficulties due to the disputes and divisions seen within the association for the past few years. However, he expressed confidence that now that institutional unity has been established, the association will return to its former state and level of activity.
President Shrestha urged the NRNA activists in the Africa region to forget the bitter-sweet past and reunite to become active again. He said, "We are stronger now after the unity. I specially request all of you here to restore the association to its former state and height in the Africa region as well."
The program saw a strong presence of NRNA representatives from various countries in Africa. Chandra Tandon, Honorary Consul of Kenya for Nepal, NRNA Spokesperson Gangadhar Gautam, and Advisor Hikmat Thapa presented their views at the event.
Similarly, the participation included Africa Regional Coordinator Krishna Dutt Bhatta (Kenya), Regional Women Coordinator Dr. Sarita Pandey Bhattarai (South Africa), and Regional Deputy Coordinators Chhavi Shrestha (Seychelles) and Bikas Subedi (Ghana).
Also present at the program were Regional Women Deputy Coordinator Shanti Subedi (Botswana), Regional Youth Coordinator Bharat Rijal (Nigeria), Deputy Coordinator Santosh Udas (Tanzania), NCC South Africa President Dr. Pushpa Bhattarai, NCC Kenya Vice President Bharat Regmi, and International Committee Honorary Council Members Man Thapa (Nigeria) and Ramesh Sharma (Rwanda), among others.
The participants welcomed President Shrestha's message of unity and expressed their commitment to further strengthen the NRNA campaign in the Africa region.
