NRNA Forms Various Committees Including Appointment of Advisors
Kathmandu — The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has appointed advisors and formed several committees.
The International Coordination Council (ICC) led by Mahesh Kumar Shrestha, elected through the high-level committee formed by the Supreme Court directive, appointed the advisors during its virtual meeting on Sunday, in accordance with Article 17, Subsection 9 of the NRNA constitution.
The appointed advisors include Sonam Lama, Tharka Sen, Janaki Gurung, Umesh Pudasaini, Prakash Dhamala, Nabin Sherchan, Shanikumar Oli, Chitra Subedi, Tilak K.C., Rovindra Shrestha (Gobinda), Bed Kharal, Bandana Sapkota Sharma, Ananda Bista, Bishnu Subedi, Narayan Thapa, Durga Acharya, Narayan Acharya, Narendra Bhat, Narayan Subedi, Hikmat Thapa, Bishwo Baral, Purna Hamal, Binod Shah, Krishna Giri, and Puran Giri.
Additionally, the meeting formed the Policy Advocacy Committee for the first time. The three-member committee is chaired by Khagendra G.C, with Kanchan Pokharel and Surendra Shrestha appointed as co-chairs. This committee will be further expanded later and will assist in policy-related matters of the NRNA.
The meeting also decided to form various task forces, according to information provided by the association’s secretary, Chintamani Sapkota.
The Disciplinary Committee members include Dil Gurung, Subash Joshi, and Bhuwani Prasad Timilsina.
The association decided to accelerate preparations for the constitution convention to be held in the UAE on September 21. The Constitution Committee was also formed during the meeting. The committee is chaired by General Secretary Baburam (B.R.) Lama, with Gunraj Sharma, Krishna Giri, and Lok Prasad Dahal as co-chairs, and Bimal Subedi as member secretary. Balram Shrestha and Man Thapa are members of the committee.
The Unity and Coordination Committee of the National Coordination Council (NCC) has been assigned to spokesperson Gangadhar Gautam as the chairperson.
