Final List of Candidates Published for Nepal Medical Association Election
Kathmandu. The election committee has published the final list of candidates for the upcoming election of the Nepal Medical Association (NMA).
Issuing a notice, the committee published the final list by maintaining the nominations of members who submitted their forms and paid the required fees to the election committee on December 17.
The election had previously been halted after the Patan High Court issued an interim order in favor of Dr. Ajay Kumar Mishra, who filed a writ petition requesting that election activities not proceed under the current circumstances, alleging that the election committee acted outside the bylaws.
According to the public notice, a new election date will be set as soon as possible after discussing with the current executive committee of the association and obtaining approval from the Election Commission.
The committee has urged all candidates, voters, and stakeholders to participate actively in the election process. For the upcoming NMA election, Dr. Badri Rijal, Dr. Mangal Rawal, and Dr. Narayan Prasad Bhusal have filed candidacies for the post of President, while Dr. Ajay Kumar Mishra, Dr. Kritipal Subedi, and Dr. Sanjeev Tiwari have filed for the post of Senior Vice President.
Similarly, there are three candidates for the post of General Secretary, two for Treasurer, three for Joint Secretary, two for Joint Treasurer, and 18 candidates for members.
Furthermore, for the post of Provincial Coordinator, there are three candidates in Koshi, three in Madhesh, four in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, three in Lumbini, three in Karnali, and two in Sudurpashchim province.
