‘Newa Maicha Baucha Nepal Sambat 1146’ Anusiya Manandhar and Nirvesh Shrestha winners

Kathmandu. In the beauty pageant ‘Newa Maicha Baucha Nepal Sambat 1146’ organized with the objective of preserving cultural identity, language, script, and tradition, Anusiya Manandhar won the title for Newa Maicha and Nirvesh Shrestha won the title for Newa Baucha. Nirvesh also won the Personality Award in the category.

In the competition, Samana Maharjan became the First Runner-up and Multimedia winner in the Newa Maicha category, while Nerisha Maharjan became the Second Runner-up. Similarly, in the Newa Baucha category, Atharva Pradhan was declared the First Runner-up and Anam Darshi Vajracharya was declared the Second Runner-up.

In the competition, Medhavi Tuladhar received the Discipline, Unnati Bajracharya the Active, Nibha Maharjan the Educational, Jaijbi Yechu Shrestha the Intelligent, Akila Shakya the Picturesque, Siyona Manandhar the Co-Curriculum, Utsav Shrestha the Best Costume, Samriddhi Maharjan the Style Icon, Puwa Urja Tuladhar the Best Smile, Abhishek Shrestha the Attractive, Yuwani Maharjan the Best Nepal Script, Aishana Maharjan the Leadership, Ardita Maharjan the Best Culture, Prashanna Maharjan the Talent, Sadichha Maharjan the Best Nepal Language, and Aaragya Tuladhar the Innocent title.

Educationist Rameshwor Shrestha, model and actress Srishti Maharjan, singer Ujan Shakya, founder principal of New Zenith English Modern School Raju Maharjan and Ranjana Lipi expert Lalima Shrestha were the judges in the competition. Rohiya Maharjan was the fashion choreographer, Situ Maharjan the dance choreographer, and Dina Gurung of Dinaz Fashion House was the dress designer for the competition.

The competition, which had artist Narayan Devi Pradhan as the chief guest, saw participating children compete based on their cultural knowledge, personality, discipline, talent, and presentation.

Sanjay Maharjan, Executive Chairman of the organizing body Kalash Event, said that the competition was organized to showcase the talent of children of the Newar community. Barsha Maharjan, Managing Director of the event, said that the competition will continue in the coming years as well.
