‘Nepali for Labour’ Formed in the UK under Dr. Bacchu Kailash Kaini

A pro-Labour Party organization named ‘Nepali for Labour’ has been established in the United Kingdom under the chairmanship of Dr. Bacchu Kailash Kaini.

The newly formed organization has appointed Bikash Chundal as Vice-Chair, Solicitor Deepak Bhattarai as Secretary, and Ankita Dhakal as Treasurer. Its members include Jeet Ranabhat, Punya Regmi, Laxmi Gurung, Rajan Khakurel, Ram Bagale, Krishna Bhandari, Bipin Niraula, and Dinesh Ghimire.

It is a common practice among the Nepali diaspora in the UK to form supportive organizations affiliated with political parties. Following this tradition, the newly established organization allows members of the Labour Party or Nepalis supportive of the party residing in the UK to join.

According to Dr. Kaini, the organization's objectives are to actively encourage the Nepali community to participate in the Labour Party, increase electoral support, promote issues of concern to the Nepali community within the party, strengthen Nepali representation from local to national elections, and advocate for stronger Nepal–UK relations.

Currently, more than ten individuals of Nepali origin in the UK are members of the Labour Party and have been elected as representatives in local bodies. The organization is expected to further strengthen this continuity.

Dr. Kaini also informed that the executive committee will soon be expanded, and various departments will be formed.
