National Vitamin 'A' Program Kicks Off in Madhesh Province
Janakpur. The National Vitamin 'A' Program 2082 has commenced in Madhesh Province starting today.
The program to administer Vitamin 'A' was launched in Janakpurdham on Thursday (today) by Saroj Chandra Neupane, Director of the Health Directorate Sapahi, Dhanusha, under the Ministry of Health and Population of the Madhesh Provincial Government. He inaugurated the two-day capsule-administering program, which will run today and tomorrow.
By giving the Vitamin 'A' capsule to the children present, he announced the start of the two-day event. During the occasion, Director Neupane informed that the goal is to administer Vitamin 'A' capsules to 4,79,722 children across Madhesh Province.
Umesh Yadav, Chief of the Dhanusha District Health Office, informed that the Vitamin 'A' program has been running since the year 2050 BS. He mentioned that this program is conducted twice a year.
According to him, since the food consumed by children does not contain all the necessary vitamins, the Vitamin 'A' capsule is administered. Chief Yadav informed that this capsule must be given to children aged six months to five years.
