Benefits of Drinking Warm Water on an Empty Stomach

Kathmandu. Doctors have stated that drinking warm water on an empty stomach after waking up in the morning is beneficial for health. According to them, warm water activates the digestive system that slowed down overnight, keeps the stomach clean, and helps flush out toxins accumulated within the body.

Experts suggest that regularly drinking warm water in the morning can reduce constipation and help control problems like gas, indigestion, and bloating. Since it boosts the body's metabolism, it is also said to aid in weight control.

Similarly, doctors say that warm water improves blood circulation and increases the flow of oxygen to cells, keeping the body active and energetic throughout the day. Because it helps hydrate the skin from within, it is reported to have a positive impact on skin health as well.

According to physicians, drinking warm water on an empty stomach can also be helpful in reducing phlegm, common colds, and throat-related issues. It is particularly noted for helping keep the body warm during cold weather.

Doctors advise developing the habit of drinking at least one glass of warm (not excessively hot) water before consuming coffee or tea in the morning. Additionally, while lemon or honey can be added to the warm water as needed, they suggest that individuals with chronic health conditions should consult a doctor.
