Atmosphere for Miss Tamang Pokhara 2026, Discussion Concludes Among Community

Pokhara. The preparations for the 10th Miss Tamang Pokhara–2026 have formally begun. The society announced that a discussion program was held among various Tamang Ghedung units within the Pokhara Metropolitan area for the preparations.

The Miss Tamang Pokhara pageant is held every year on the occasion of Sonam Lhosar, organized by the Baidam Tamang Sewa Samaj.

In the discussion program, chaired by Baidam Tamang Sewa Samaj President Jack Tamang, Ram Bahadur Blon (Shibu), Vice President of Tamang Ghedung Gandaki, expressed the idea that if women are educated, the family is educated, and if the family is educated, the society and the country are educated, linking this concept to the Miss Tamang competition.

Raju KC, former president of Nepal Jaycees, mentioned that women's education enriches the home, society, and country, and emphasized the contribution Miss Tamang Pokhara has made to developing women's capabilities, building leadership, and increasing self-confidence.

Sanjay Malla, Station Manager of Radio Annapurna, stated that this program, which provides an opportunity for the daughters and women of the Tamang community to advance with their identity, talent, and cultural knowledge, is an asset of the community itself.

He mentioned that if tradition, art, language, and culture are not transferred to the new generation, there is a risk of losing their originality.

Speakers and participants stated that the Miss Tamang pageant is not just a beauty contest, but an important medium for cultural preservation, leadership development, and strengthening the inter-generational connection of the community.

In the discussion, Coordinator Roshila Blon, President of the Tamang Buddhist Service Committee Bishnu Tamang, Acting President of Tamang Ghedung Pokhara Metropolitan Anjana Tamang, and the program's choreographer Jita Lama, among others, presented their views on the importance of Miss Tamang Pokhara, its cultural contribution, and its role in revealing talent.

Jack Tamang, President of the Baidam Tamang Sewa Samaj, requested the guardians and the Tamang community of Pokhara to enroll their daughters/women in the Miss Tamang Pokhara–2026 event, which will be held in Pokhara on Magh 3, to give them an excellent opportunity to learn new things, boost self-confidence, and showcase their potential.
