Minister Yadav Inspects Hospitals in Birgunj to Assess Cholera Situation

Birgunj (Parsa) — Minister for Drinking Water, Pradeep Yadav, visited various hospitals in Birgunj today to assess the condition of patients affected by cholera. Following an on-site inspection of cholera-hit areas within Birgunj Metropolitan City, he reached Narayani Hospital, Terai Hospital, Birgunj Health Care, and other medical institutions to directly observe the situation of patients, drinking water sources, sanitation, and sewage management.
Minister Yadav stated that the government is taking the cholera outbreak very seriously. Under his direction, the Department of Water Supply and Sewerage has mobilized mobile teams in the affected areas with essential materials, including water purification solution “Piyush.” These teams are actively carrying out water testing and purification efforts.
He further informed that clear instructions have been given to the concerned authorities to coordinate with local officials and implement both immediate and long-term measures to control cholera.
Minister Yadav also urged the public to boil water before drinking, wash hands with soap and water, and eat only properly cooked food. He expressed confidence that with cooperation, awareness, and caution from everyone, the outbreak can be brought under control soon.
