MetLife Nepal Extends Support to Flood and Landslide Victims in Ilam with Safe Water Storage Solutions

Illam, November 25, 2025- In the wake of the devastating floods and landslides that struck Ilam District earlier this year, MetLife Nepal has joined hands with Sungava Development Organization, Ilam, to support affected families by distributing 500-liter water reservoir tanks. 

The heavy rainfall on 18 and 19 Ashoj 2082 brought widespread destruction across the district — sweeping away bridges, damaging homes, and cutting off access to essential services. Many households were left without a stable source of clean water, compounding the hardships of displacement and recovery. 

Recognizing the urgent need for safe and reliable water storage, MetLife Nepal partnered with Sungava to provide durable reservoir tanks to some of the most affected families in remote areas. Through this initiative, over 80 families among 338 displaced households will now have access to safe water storage to help sustain their daily needs and maintain hygiene during the rebuilding phase. 

The distribution process is being carried out in close coordination with local ward offices and disaster response committees to ensure fair and transparent beneficiary selection. Sungava’s local volunteers and technical team will oversee the delivery, documentation, and follow-up to ensure that every family receives the tanks safely and on time.
