Local Youth Protest Frequent Accidents on Siraha's Hulaki Highway
Siraha — Local youth have staged a protest, alleging that the relevant authorities have shown no interest despite frequent vehicle accidents occurring at various locations along Siraha's Hulaki Highway. The youth expressed their anger, stating that safety measures have not been adopted even as human casualties continue to rise in these accidents.
During the protest, the youth burned effigies of Prime Minister Sushil Karki, the Chief District Officer of Siraha, and the contractor for the Hulaki Highway construction, Kishori Kalam Sah. They claimed that accidents are increasing due to the unmanaged condition of the road, the lack of necessary traffic signs, and negligence in construction work.
The protesting youth have demanded immediate road improvements, traffic management, and accountability from the responsible bodies. They further warned of launching even stricter protests if the concerned authorities do not take swift action.
