Interaction with Stakeholders on Land Problem Resolution Concluded

Pokhara – Organized by the Land Rights Forum Nepal, District Working Committee Kaski, an interaction and discussion program was held on Sunday with landless Dalits, landless squatters, and unmanaged settlers for acquiring land, in coordination with the Land Commission, people’s representatives, political parties, and other concerned stakeholders.

The chief guest of the program, Chairman of the Land Problem Resolution Commission Kaski, Bain Bahadur Gurung, stated that the commission was formed specifically to resolve land issues, and assured that once the local bodies provide accurate details to the commission, no work from his side would be delayed.

Chairman of Pokhara Ward No. 9, Dipendra Marsani, expressed that it would be best if all residents in his ward could be settled permanently in the same place, and reaffirmed his constant positive approach toward resolving land-related problems.

Spokesperson of the Land Problem Resolution Commission Kaski, Aas Bahadur Gurung, mentioned that the commission can work effectively only with the support of local bodies and residents.

Executive committee member Gopi Tulachan, Land Rights Forum Nepal Gandaki Province Chairman Ram Bahadur Lamichhane, Nepali Congress Pokhara–9 President Shivraj Bastola, CPN–UML Pokhara–9 Chairperson Saraswati Shrestha, Maoist Centre Pokhara–9 Chairperson Ashim Tamang, as well as locals Jit Bahadur Moktan and Goma Parajuli Tamang, all urged the commission to work in a way that would ensure the resolution of land problems.

The program was chaired by Land Rights Forum Kaski Chairman Prem Bahadur Gurung, with a welcome speech delivered by Land Rights Forum Pokhara Metropolitan Chairman Krishna Pariyar, and conducted by Land Rights Forum Kaski Secretary Kumari Gurung.
