JSP No Longer in a Position to Continue Support to Federal Government: Basnet

Kathmandu — Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal has hinted at withdrawing its support to the federal government. The party's head of the publicity department, Purna Basnet, stated that they are no longer in a position to continue the support.

According to Basnet, the government has failed to fulfill its commitments regarding constitutional amendment, assurance of good governance, economic reforms, and control over corruption, commission-based practices, and systemic looting. As a result, the party is reconsidering its stance.

"The party's central executive committee has instructed the parliamentary party to make a decision regarding the support to the government. The parliamentary party, which is meeting on Wednesday, will make a formal decision," Basnet said.

He also criticized the Nepali Congress–CPN-UML coalition government for failing to deliver satisfactory results in any sector.

Earlier, JSP Nepal had already withdrawn its support from the Lumbini provincial government. Now, the party appears to be preparing to do the same at the federal level.
