Jeevan Luitel Makes a Grand Comeback to Theatre After 10 Years, to Play Suyogbir in ‘Shirishko Phool’

Kathmandu — Popular Nepali actor Jeevan Luitel is set to return to acting after a decade-long hiatus, making his comeback on stage through the much-anticipated play ‘Shirishko Phool’, scheduled to be staged by Kantipur Theatre from the 1st of Saun.
Based on the classic novel by literary icon Parijat, the play will feature Luitel in the lead role of Suyogbir. This marks his first performance since relocating to the United States.
The play is written and directed by Patrika Ghimire, a student of Kantipur Film Academy. According to Kantipur Theatre and Academy CEO Prakash Puri, Luitel is flying to Nepal next week specifically for the production. “We needed someone mature and emotionally deep for the role, and Jeevan Luitel was the perfect fit,” said Puri.
The role of Sakambari, the female protagonist, is yet to be revealed, adding further intrigue among theatre enthusiasts.
“Stage is the perfect platform for his comeback,” Puri added, expressing confidence that audiences will warmly welcome Luitel’s return to the performing arts.
Just last month, Kantipur Theatre garnered praise for its production ‘Meera’, starring Rekha Thapa. Now, ‘Shirishko Phool’ has become a subject of heightened interest due to Jeevan Luitel’s highly anticipated return.
