HPV Vaccination Campaign in Bajura
Bajura. An HPV vaccination campaign against cervical cancer targeting adolescent girls is underway in all nine local levels of Bajura.
The vaccination drive began after orientation programs were conducted in every local level. This year, the goal is to vaccinate 1,806 girls across the district. While more than 7,000 girls received the HPV vaccine during last year’s campaign, this year it is being provided as a regular vaccination for girls in Grade 6 and those who missed out previously.
Lal Bahadur Khadka, the Acting Chief of the Health Office, informed that the vaccination service is being provided through centers established in schools across all nine local levels.
Additionally, the vaccine can also be administered at health institutions. Under the National Immunization Program, the HPV vaccination campaign against cancer started in Bajura on Magh 27 and will continue until Falgun 3.
